Event Description

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) This homecoming will exceed (FAMUANS') expectations." Hayes a special tribute for FAMU's 2009 Homecoming.
Homecoming theme: "Blood, Sweat and Tears," Great Moments in FAMU's Gridiron History. In addition to Hayes, five of FAMU's historic football teams are being honored.
The 1959 team is being recognized for the 50-year anniversary of its flawless 10-0 season. The 1969 season is being honored for the 8-1-0 season in which the Rattlers won one of the first interracial football games against University of Tampa.
The 1977 team was one of the nation's undefeated teams. The 1978 team was one of the first to win the NCAA's Division I FCS Championship. And the 1979 team upset University of Miami's team with a 16-13 win. This year's homecoming festivities offer something for everyone.

THE SCHEDULE FOR FAMU'S 2009 HOMECOMING WEEK IS:
• Sunday, Oct. 18 — Homecoming worship service from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. in Perry Paige Auditorium
• Sunday, Oct. 18 — Dormitory Step Show from 8 p.m.-10 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Teaching Gym on Wahnish Way. Tickets cost $20 for the event or $50 for three tickets for events from Sunday-Tuesday. Students with identification get in free.
• Monday, Oct. 19 — Spirit Day featuring the King and Queen of Orange and Green will be on the set from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Monday, Oct. 19 — The Comedy Talent/Showcase from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Teaching Gym on Wahnish Way. Tickets cost $20 for the event or $50 for three tickets for events from Sunday-Tuesday. Students with identification get in free.
• Tuesday, Oct. 20 — Homecoming fashion show from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Teaching Gym on Wahnish Way. Tickets cost $20 for the event or $50 for three tickets for events from Sunday-Tuesday. Students with identification get in free.
• Wednesday, Oct. 21 — Black Entertainment Television's College Tour from noon-4 p.m. at FAMU Park
• Thursday, Oct. 22 — Coronation of Mr. and Ms. FAMU from 7p.m.-9 p.m. in Lee Hall Auditorium.
• Thursday, Oct. 22 — Coronation Ball from 9 p.m.-midnight in the Grand Ballroom.
• Friday, Oct. 23 — Homecoming Convocation from 10:10 a.m.-noon at the Gaither Gym.
• Friday, Oct. 23 — President's reception and Homecoming Gala from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Tickets cost $125. Proceeds go to the FAMU Foundation.
• Saturday, Oct. 24 — FAMU Parade from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. from Frenchtown to the Civic Center.
• Saturday, Oct. 24 — FAMU vs. Norfolk State from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. at Bragg Memorial Stadium
• Sunday, Oct. 25 — Rattler campus clean up from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. from Bragg Stadium to The Set
• Sunday, Oct. 25 — FAMU Conference volleyball game against Bethune Cookman University from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at Jake Gaither Gym.
