The annual Tallahassee Jazz and Blues Festival, founded 18 years ago, is preserving a musical culture by celebrating two true American music genres. The line-up of live performances on the outdoor stage includes traditional and contemporary blues, Dixieland, swing, contemporary jazz, zydeco and more. The music and activities are perfect for all ages. There is no charge for members to attend, and non-members pay only the Museum's normal daily admission fees. Half-price Sunday until noon. The Museum offers historical, environmental and cultural collections from north Florida and south Georgia, including Florida panthers and other native species in natural habitat. Grounds include cafe, playground and store. During the festival, the Museum opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, with performances starting at 11 a.m., and at 11 a.m. Sunday, with performances starting at noon. Museum closes at 5 p.m.
